We need to understand thoroughly about immigration and reading Daily Mail or watching biased New Channels does not help.
There are the Economic Migrants who come in to fill Occupations that are on the shortage list in UK. They work hard and pay their taxes. For Eg, Doctors, Nurses, IT Proffessionals.
There are Assylum Seekers. Some of them are genuine. Who have been brutally beaten, raped almost killed etc and who genuinely flee their country for their life. We should welcome such people, subject to criminal checks and offer them the assylum and a life that every human being deserves. There are loads and loads of them who misuse this. These people who abuse the assylum systems are the ones who commit crimes, frauds, claim benefits, NHS etc and are a burden and cost the tax payer
Finally there are the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. These are the people who should not be living in the country. They work illegally, pay no tax , commit crime , are untraceable, claim all NHS services including GP, Operations, Scans, Tests etc etc. They cause a lot of burden to the society and Economy.I remember reading in a news paper few years ago that the no.of illegal immigrants in this country are more than the combined no.of soldiers in the armed forces Army+Navy+Airforce!!

My first Degree was in Physics ( BSc Physcis ) , I completed my Masters degree in Information Systems from Leeds University ( MSc Information Systems ) , I completed my second Masters degree in Software Development from Wolverhampton Uni ( MSc Software Development) .
I work for a leading Telecom Service provider as a Business Development Consultant.
I pay all my taxes, never ever claimed any refund or benefit from the government and I have never availed NHS services in 8 years .
It upsets me a bit when people express their views genrally targetting all the immigrants.

Ps The govt does not waste all its money on just the undeserving immigrants. For Eg, from todays news the police spent about £10million pounds on Jockey Kieren Fallon case. Clearly there was not much evidence to bring in a charge let alone spend so much on investigations. This was just one of the cases so you can imagine all the cases till date where the govt wasted money.
Millions of pounds paid in kickbacks ( bribes) to complete arms deals.
Selling Govt owned defence research firms to private companies for less than the value . The civil servants who helped with the deal pocketed millions !!! there is so much more where the money is being wasted and burdens the tax payer.
If they were a bit patient for Iraq or Afghanistan, a full UN resoultion could have been obtained for invasion and the cost would have been footed by the UN instead of US n UK bearing for most...
