Need two tyres for the front this weekend, fancy a change fed up with the side walls giving on the Toyo T1R like so many others.
Had 3 sets of T1R on the front, 1 on the back and dont rate them, well above average. Tyre wear not brilliant usually get 4 to 5k before illegal this time 8.5k on the front. Carefull i use Tyretraders in Darlaston the price you see online is different to turning up and having them fitted, even so £150 a pair aint bad.
Goodyear F1 are a far better tyre all round even though made in China, little side wall flex, decent better wear characteristics and slightly dearer than T1R, £160+ fitted.
Never tried any RE Bridgestones, they are on my list this time again.
Shame cant get the Yokohama A008 any more if you thought you had sticky tyres, think again. As an example on a FWD Fiesta with A008 up front and the great at the time NCT 2 on rear, turn in a corner in the dry and you could get the back out, unbelievable! Didnt last long though the dearer AVS not as good.
If you want mileage out of a tyre with no false economy that works out better over the tyre life against the £50 asian rubbish, standard fitment Michellin Pilots around £80 each is the way to go 36k on the rear, cant comment on front always had steering geometry trouble from new.
Maybe a home grown tyre that supports the british or European economy and workers jobs.
