Washer motor / jets quick help needed

I thought that my washer fluid bottle had just run out or was very low as when you pulled the stalk for it to spray very little came out and the motor sounded loud as if no water was present.

I have just filled up the washer tank to find it was nearly full.

If you pull the stalk you can really hear the motor struggle and after a few minutes you get a bit of water passing onto the screen.

I have cleaned to jet heads to check of obstruction but it does it on both sides.

If you pull the stalk in a frantic manner you get slightly more pressure in and they jet just past the scuttle pannel.

Any ideas as i really need these to work this time of year notsure.gif notsure.gif

I hear that there is a filter some where on the pump that gets clogged up?

Is this an easy fix.

The motor pushs thru a grommit with the gauze on...whip pump ot ,remove grommit,clean grommit,refit pump...

As Daz says, I had this problem on my Astra, thought it was the motor at first... removed it from the bottom of the water tank... removed the gromit to find it clogged with what looked like Bull Semen. puke.. (not that I`m totally sure what that looks like before people start to worry) :roll:

Do i have to remove the front bumper to do get access to the pump?

If i remember correctly it`s accessed ... wheel off... arch liner off... and dropped down.

just remove the passenger wheel arch liner and it's behind the bumper 🙂

I always seems to get the water go stinky in the Zafira. Smells like cats p1ss when you pull on the washers!!

Right then guys finally managed to get to the back of the washer container! Now i could not find no filter, i could not even get the pipes off the motor. Here is a pick any info before i get if by some one who has got a clue. I will stick to detailing cars and fixing computers.

the filter is built into the grommet the bottom of the pump sits in, it will still be in the water bottle cheers..

So nothing to do with the motor or the white vlave thing with the two pipes?

I could not get to the other bolt hoding the washer resviour on, so i could not remove it totally.

The motor makes a noise when i pull the stalk and water finally comes through the jets if you really pump the washer stalk.

Motor could be on it way out notsure.gif or blockage some where else?

Si, see the black rubber grommit that the pump came out off..... good prise it out with a flat bladded screwdriver then youll see drakeys bull semen... you can then blow it through (then youll know what bull semen tastes like) HTH.

if you have removed the pump then you can remove the filter / seal 🙂

I get ya now, well i will remove that tomorrow and give it a clean.

Cheers guys the it may be zip ties holding the bumper togeather LOL until i get to a dealership with a parts dept.

I was trying to remove the pipes from the white valve on the motor :roll:

good aint it wen people put 2much sreen wash in and then dont use it and it stands and blocks up the filter! it was just the othere day i did it on a sh1ty ford !

If it is blocked i know why!

I bought some cheap cheap my friend bargin screen wash 5ltrs or somthiing for pound. That will be the last time i do that.
