Astra GSI Underperforming

Hi all.

My 2003 Astra 2.2l 16v is really slow up to 4000rpm. After that it pulls really strong, but robot to robot it feels dead. i can feel that the power is there, feels like the car is just holding he power back.

I have some weird boxes on my freeflow, could it be that my exhaust is too 'free' ie not enough backpressure?

Could it be that my intake sensor is reading the wrong temp therefore starving the engine of fuel??

Is there anything else that could be holding the car back at low revs??

it could be lack of back pressure, if you fit some cams, a 2.4 inlet manifold and get a remap then the exhaust will be ok.

it's just the exhaust flows better than the rest of the engine
