wocsop hi there . fitted a pair of lexus lights at the rear . and i now get a "headlight/taillight" warning on the dash ??? Every light on the car works fine !!! Any ideas , fault finding procedure ?? cheers..
JohnnyN Are there any LED's? I know that on the BMW's if you change the rear lights for ones that have LED's in, the on board computer notes a voltage drop and throws up an error on the dash because it thinks that the bulb has blown.
evocarlos i fitted some LED stop/tail bulbs had the same trouble had to go back to standard bulbs i was told its because the bulb gone detection system is Resistances basted and if you fit a led in place of the bulb there's little or no resistances and leds are diodes based or some shit like that i thank there is ways around it with relays but I'm unsure
wocsop Hi again . No its just standard bulbs in the car . Like i say all the lights come on ok . The left connector was a bit fidilly to get on , but apart from that i had no trouble with them . just the mfd spitting out a fault whenever i turn the lights on and start moving ???
wocsop Do you think it would be a good idea to use the old multi-connectors from the original lights ??? or is there another way to test them ??
blue_se2 The earth's on the bulb holders on some of the lexus lights are crap just squashed between the bulb holder and plastic. Might be worth checking them and soldering them in place
wocsop Cool . im offshore just now , but , ill try that when i get back . notsure.gif , thanks again for the help chaps !!! 😃
jamesjohn i always have this problem , driver side rear brake light. The warning comes up every 3 weeks (approx) and I have to put a new bulb. Its all fine for 3 weeks and then again the warning sign comes come....and the driver side rear brake light works sometimes and sometimes does not work !!
