With winter fast approaching us i decided the front tyres on my partners clio sport where starting to get to near the indicators.

I would normally buy Eagle F1's but i found these on offer

Some Toyo Proxy T1R's and at the price i thought i would give them ago.

Ordered them yesterday at 1pm turned up today at 9am (happy days) £86.80 delivered for the pair

Next purchase is some new front discs, as even though the present ones are not too worn they have gone on the backs a common problem app.

Thats a great price, Im desperate to get my 18s back on but need to find some tyres thatll keep my car out of the bushes in the rain!!! (at a reasonably price)

i got a qoute of 65 quid a tyre for t1r's for 215 45 17s, they seem to be cheap at the moment i was going to put them on new alloys but they fell through, so im now going to get some falken fk452s for my standard wheels £53 inc vat and fitting each, ive done a bit of research and they have a good reputation http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/

ive had falken 451s a few years ago and they were good i normally use goodyears f1s but i want to try something different!

Well i will report back once they are fitted. On the astra i normally go for Avon ZZ3 or Eagle F1's.

Drakey i know what you mean cheap rubber and rain are not a good combo, have you had a look on www.mytyres.co.uk

Furn, i have seen your bad news about your rims hope you get your cheque. I have never tried Falkens but my friend had some on his t-sport and never complained.

Ta for the links guys, I was amazed that tyres could be that slippy (crap), could get the car stepping out (all 4 wheels) going aroung the perry track at work.... 35mph. Not good prior to an hour drive home.
Hence the car back on standard 16`s

Just need to compramise between a good wet tyre and one thats not going to disapear quickly on the summer roads..... and of course I don`t wanna spend a fortune.

my eagle f1s wore down and my dad gave me 4 federals, so ive been running them for 4 months , what can i say ok in the dry , in the wet they are a joke i can plant my right foot in second gear and it spins the wheels and makes the car very unstable.
