My Boot repair

Started today,not the best job in my opinion but it will do for the time being....

As it was b4 i started...

After a bit of beating and a light rub down..

Filler time...
.

After alot of elbow work and shit loads of dust i got to here..

Gave it a nice flat of with some 800 wet and dry then and then a coat or 4 of primer

After a light flat of then a few coats of satin black for the time being..

The guys in work thought i should have abit of a warning in the future so courtesy of them....a nice set of reverse parking sensors....lol

I kept the repair to below the trim so theres aslight ding left in the boot above,it dont look to bad tho.

So after it was all done..

no no no nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrr not the hicoat yellow hibuild that dont like paint and sinks after 2 weeks...... but its good work 😉

Wudnt touch hicoat paint m8.....Its simoniz stuff,used it for years with no probs upto now....touch wood.....lol

cool i bought a can of hicoat some years back cause its all the shop had by the time id finshed the paint was moving under my fingers lol not a good piant the simoniz is good sutff tho.
I use the maximers range from my loacl paint retaller, bace coat (mix'd in shop) and topcoat (2pak) have a look at my another bonnet thread..

I only had aersols,my gun got nicked a few years ago and i aint got round to replacing it yet....

I certanly do.....step one drive to bodyshop...leave car there for 3 days and then pick up with freshly painted bumper.... 8)

Cheers though Johnny, It may need another touchup in spring as all the mway driving i am doing is peppering it again.

Black and stone chips are a nightmare, But i reckon if you can repair your boot like you have some small touching up and flatting back wont be an issue ofr you.

That looks really good.

What grade did you flat it back with and what did you polish it up with?

Rough method was.

Clean and clay area.
Fill
Flat back with backing pad and gade megs 2000 grit W&D and then 2500 W&D.
I then polished up using a PC polisher with poorboys super swirl remover & Menz IP polish.
