Astra 1.7 DTI Eco (Mk4)

Anyone drove one of these? What are they like? I got rid of my Vectra 2.2 Sri diesel as it was doing my head in with the little problem it had. I now have an Astra DTI 1.7 Eco coming. I need a car that will get me to work no problem and be cheap to run at the same time. I only found out once I got it that the road tax is only £35 a year :lol: . My girlfriend will have the 2.2 petrol and I will have the cheap run about :roll: . I will still lend her car when I feel like having fun :razz: . I also read you can get around 600 to 900 miles to a tank of diesel in it dunno.. 8)

Yeah 600 miles to a tank in one of these is easily do-able. They are gutless, but will sail along all day with out too much agro.

Good 🙂. I have always had the 2.0 Diesel but in the Vectra, I have never had a 1.7 Dti.

that wud be the 16v engine then ? just keep an eye out for the oil pump pully cuming off most off them do at 1 stage of there lifes ! also it runs on the cambelt !!!!! and injecter got like a metal thing round them which SUM time leaks water in 2 the cylinder !! apart from that they not 2 bad! 😃

Had an experiance with one with the oil pump pulley coming off......it want a pretty sight under the cambelt cover.....

So when I get it I best make sure it has a new oil pulley fitted. I want it to last a while 🙂. Cheers for the info

when u get it hav the cambelt done and at the same time! not so much as new oil pulley fitted take the nut of and put some locktight on it and tighten it up !! then u can a least say u have tryed that should do the job! 😃

She gets about 700 miles to 45ish quid i think..

edit- Mark, did you use to have a MK3 GSi by any chance?

I sure did 😃 , I had mint red one. It was M reg. I also had a P reg one phase 2....

Thats me 🙂. I wish I was still mixing as much as I used to. Now I have lack of new tunes, not much time with work hours. I did a mix just the other day with all the classics I liked lol 🙂
