Before I start, I apologise in advance if I seem very opinionated, I'm not really, but I've learnt the hard way through my own experience, and others, and the wrong advice can lead to very costly mistakes.
If you want to upgrade from stock audio;
Put components in the front, and amp them, it's the law !!!!
Mount them on secure mounts, MDF baffles ideally, NOT plastic adaptor rings.
Sound deaden the doors, it's also the law !!
My local ICE dealer has over 30 years experience, and has build many a competition winning install over the years, and he said he'd rather I spend £150 on sound proofing, and £50 on speakers,
than buy a set of £200 components, I would hear more benefit.
I cannot stress enough, correct deadening/installation is the most important part of your install !!
I have listened to a Range Rover, with £1400 (that's one thousand and four hundred pounds) Genesis Absolute series components installed without sound deadening,
and my £250 Genesis audiophiles (c/w deadening ) out preformed them in ever way !!!
The R/R owner refused to believe that I had vastly cheaper equipment than his.
And don't waste money putting expensive speakers in the rear doors, it'll pull the sound stage away from the front (not a good idea, unless you're Hightower 😃 )
Use the money you would've spent on 2 sets of components on ONE good set for the front.
If you really must change the rear oe speakers, a cheapish set of co-axals run from the rear H/U channel will be PLENTY.
Rule of thumb, 90% installation, 10% kit.
Oh yea, but a good Alpine H/U, they're mint 😃
