Do I really need a new clutch?

I am replacing my flywheel shortly and cant decide on putting a new clutch in or not. I can get one for £120 all in inc delivery.

Having spend a fair bit recently inc £330 inc VAT for the fly, I could really do without the extra £120. Already spent £200 trying to diagnose this fault, £200 on new tools and £200 on 12 months TAX, MOT due in 4 weeks, etc.

Is it likely an old clucth, 56k miles could damage a new fly wheel?

Just wanted some opinions really.

if you are changing the flywheel yourself, then replacing the clutch at another time isn't going to really bother you is it dunno..

Its not doing the job, its CAN an old clucth on a new fly damage the new flywheel?

I re-used the 38,000 mile clutch on my vx220 after fitting a new lightened flywheel, no problems at all, but the clutch was in very good condition.

I suppose it's what you find when you remove it dunno..

Yea I understand that, but the dualmass is probably more fragile than a conventional type fly!

Saying that, my thrust beering is on its way out at 56K

My Slave Cylinder was fooked at 40k. I didn't know it until I saw it on the bench.

did you notice your slave cylinder was alright after?

I had to have a new one fitted whilst it was in bits. Courtenay did it when I had the lightened flywheel done.

Couldn't tell the difference between old and new. I think the old one was just ready to pack up and we caught it just in time.
