Hi everyone
I have a holden vectra 2000 2.2l
which has a c22se..

is that the same engine as the z22se?

have noticed it has a cam belt instead of a chain.... are there any other physical or power difference?

if its got a belt then its not the same 2nd generation ecotec engine

if it's a cambelt driven engine then it's not a z22se :?

it will probably have a cast iron block too, similar to the old 'x18xe/x20xe/x22xe' engine family

:shock: not all vectras are created equal...

are the main characteristics that makes the z22se different compaired to the ecotec range?
is it like a completely different engine?

i know now
the ecotec is part alloy part iron cast... where as z22se is alloy..
z22se is a cam chain drive and ecotec is cam belt

are they built from the same structure? have similar power outputs?

and can i do the same mods as if i had a z22se? like pre-cat, pipe mods etc?

Sorry about the complicated questions... just want to understand the car a little more...

the engines are totally different, your exhaust will be next to the radiator, the z22se exhaust is next to the bulkhead :?

but you can use the x20xe engine parts 🙂

just to be 100% sure can you post a pic of your engine

Isnt that the same lump as in the omega and frontera 2.2 ?

thats the x22xe.....the c22se is a euro 1 engine where as the x22 is a euro 2
