robgroves99 Hi, I visited this website this morning and saw all the cam chain talk and thought ill have to check my engine no. Low and behold im out today and get a VERY loud rattling noise. I decided the best thing to do was turn the engine off and call the RAC. I was just wondering how much it costs to have everything replaced at a non vauxhall garage Thanks
robgroves99 I have spoke to benny but due to the fact he is located in wolverhampton and the only means for my car to be transported is by towing im gonna have to do it by other means! Thanks anyway guys
vocky the cam chain kit is about £125 including gaskets etc labour - Benny takes a couple of hours, I can do it in 3 hours, so no way more than 4 hours labour charge at a garage
robgroves99 Thanks vockey for the reply. It is now in the garage so hopefully I will be getting it back on monday. Also want to say thanks to everyone who contributes to this website. I wouldnt of had a clue and probably would of been ripped off at a garage were it not for this fantastic site!!
Hexstatic how many miles have you done mate? i am getting my cam chain replaced wednesday at vauxhalls expense as i am still under 60k with full vx service history.... 🙂 worth giving ago if u fit the criteria
robgroves99 I am at about 53000 miles without full service history. I didnt take it to vauxhall because I know them all too well. I had problems with my front bumper 2 months after I bought the car FROM VAUXHALL and they wouldnt accept an ounce of liability.
