Best Modifications to Z22SE Engine

Hi.

Im pretty new to the Z22SE web site but have been a member on VVOC and vectra sport for a while now.

I use to own a slightly modified V6 vectra (flowed TB, plenums, 4 bar FPR, SS exhaust plus a few more bits) until somebody kindly drove into the back of me. I now have the 2.2 SRI vectra and although I quite like the way it drives I was wondering what the best modifications are to get a bit more power out of the engine.

Reading through the forum I have seen a few points on throttle bodies, manifolds etc so was after information on where to get the 2.4 inlet manifold from and if there was anybody on here who was willing to rework the TB for a small fee obviously, as I have a spare.

the usual route for the z22se is;

remove precat = £0
panel filter = £35
cat back exhaust = £300
2.4 inlet manifold = £100 (in group buy)
piper cams = £235
sports cat = £100
exhaust manifold = £450
remap = £300
remove balancer shafts = £ ?

that lot should give about 200 bhp 🙂

I have already put a remus centre section to the letterbox exhaust (looking to change to a magnex or powerflow) and have been looking on courtenays web site and cant find a panel filter for the 2.2, do they sell them?

Reading through the posts on the mainfold (thanks Andy) I see the group buy has finished is there any going spare or any details on when the next order will be.

courtenay should do a 2.2 filter, might be worth giving them a ring dunno..

they remove vibrations from the engine, but my piper cams caused a lumpy tickover and after fitting a balancer shaft delete kit the lumpy tickover improved :?

Anyone heard if Courtenay have any 2.4 manifolds left as I thinkt hey are closed for the hols and would like to get my hands on one?

they may have some repaired manifolds available or maybe a new group by in the new year dunno..

Vocky, just reading bits on here and vx220.org - do you port throttle bodies for people or not (for a fee obviously). I can't see anything posted by yourself saying you do but lots seem to point in your direction! Cheers
