Hi all
Did my timing chain on the Vec B SRi over this weekend. Its all gone well and seems a lot quieter, although the old chain was well lubricated when I took it all off but definitely had the old oil jet fitted!
Anyway, started it up and everything generally seems fine, but I seem to have an induction air leak somewhere round the power steering pump reservoir. You can hear it, even at idle, and when you blip the throttle, you can hear it much louder, but only for a split second.
The car drives fine, although is slightly hesitant when just blipping the throttle at a standstill. I've checked the servo vacuum hose, that's OK, and the small diameter hose to the end of the fuel rail area is fine.
Its definitely just behind the power steering filler but before the EGR valve. I've had several people all fairly mechanically minded look and we've all drawn a blank. Not sure whether its something I've not done correctly or whether its been doing it for some time and we've just not noticed!
Any ideas?
Much appreciated, Andy
