Will I be better off with the 68mm TB?

This may be a bit of a speculative question but hopefully someone may be able to advise...

I ordered the 2.4 inlet manifold only as I didn't think I'd need the 68mm throttle body as I wasn't intending on having any head work or cams.

However, I've since sent away my cams to Piper so am wondering whether I'd see any real gain switching to the 68mm one or whether it is likely to cause problems? With the help of Neil my 58mm one is now nicely ported, will that be sufficient in terms of flow?

the 2.4 tb is actually 65mm, only the 2.0sc is 68mm 🙂

your ported tb will flow quite well compared to a standard 2.4 tb dunno..

you might not notice so much of a gain with the standard 2.4 tb, I suppose if that was ported....... :lol:

Paul i'm going to polish my 2.4 Tb when it comes and will not be fitting it until i have the cams etc fitted so pop ya car down when its done and we could try it on then if ya want??

That would be great Neil 🙂 I gave the throttle body a bit of a going over with wet and dry to remove the fine marks on it, they've gone now, just need to give it a final pollish up. Have just got back from a fastener shop and got some replacement countersunk screws for it. If you drop me your address via PM I'll send you some in the post.
