Engine Management Light

Wondering if anybody has had this problem with their 2.2

My engine management light come on a couple of month ago so i got a diagnostics check it showed up my O2 sensor was faulty so i replaced the sensor along with the cat as the car had covered over a 100k. A week ago the light come on again. The diagnostic showed the cat was reading low emmissions, the cars emmissions were checked with the eml on and the car is running as it should.

Just over the last couple of days i have been gettin a wiff of petrol inside the car i have checked for leaks to no avail i also had the car serviced last week and i don't know if its me but the car feels sluggish. I have a horrible feeling it could be the ecu as the light reappeared today when i was sitting in traffic.
Does anybody know if a rolling road tune would highlight a faulty ecu or is there another way of checking the ecu witout going to vauxhall.
I would have thought the diagnostic check would highlight a faulty ecu.

Any thoughts...

Have you removed the pre-cat?

Hi mate welcome to the forum,

The 2.2 have two O2 sensors one is situated before the CAT and the other one is after the CAT, which one did you change as it could the other sensor that is playing up. Just a thought

The 2 sensors also have different fault codes. Do you know the codes? My light came on after the work I had done at Courtenays, but that was to do with the earthing of the box of tricks that fools the ECU into thinking that I still had a pre-cat. The fault code that I had was showing that the car was running too lean.

The new CAT was a straight replacement as for the o2 sensor i am not entirely sure but i think it was the sensor behind the cat not in front.

The fault code showed up as bank 1 which i was informed that this is the CAT which was brand new in january. The garage said that it could be down to not enough caborn build up in the Cat or a faulty ecu but did say that vectras are very tempramental when it comes to sensors etc..

bank 2 is after the cat

it does appear that the bank 1 sensor is faulty, as this controls the mixture
