High idle then lumpy and leaking boot

Hi folks.
When i start the astra from cold it will idle at 1500 rpm then after a couple of minutes of driving it'll then idle between 800-900 rpm.

After that it then idles about 600-700 rpm but really lumpy.

Its been serviced recently, oil, filter, plugs etc. I've put on the egr cheater and blanking plate.

The top lambda sensor has been changed as it showed up as a fault code.

There are on longer any fault codes showing and my mot is in a week!

Any ideas folks?

seams to pull alright tho, i thought a dodgy coil pack would cause misfiring?

I would reset the ecu, take it steady for 30 miles or so and then see if it improves 🙂

just disconnect the battery for 20 minutes cheers..

Are the cts prone to going?

And what does the second lambda sensor on the cat?

the second lambda just tells the ecu the cat is working 🙂

Well, disconnected the ecu and it idles alot better once warmed up.

It still idles high when started up.

Any sugestions??

What else controls the idling from cold?

they all idle high for a minute or two when cold dunno..

Oh well, thats a relief then!

Just need to find where my leak in my boot is and i'll be sorted!

Check ya rear lamp seals had a few leaking water in there, and ya rear window, if its been replaced in its life might have dodgey sealant !

Mine does exactly the same as yours mate. I just put it down to being a vauxhall! 😃

Its a pain in the ass!

Tried using the pressure washer arround the window, and rear lights but nothing.

Its really weird!

Do the Astra Coupes have roof water drainage pipes running into the boot and then exiting thru' the boot floor? My Cavalier used to have this method of water drainage. There was a pipe in each corner of the boot by the sides of the rear lights. One of my pipes came out of the rubber grommet once and my boot kept getting wet.

As john has said...thats how it was with all my cavvys too...might be diff on the astra tho...

Idling higher when cold is what we used to call a choke, my mums old Metro had a lever near the steering wheel for it.
