swirl marks

Right then guys it's my job to keep my old girls new car clean as she can't do it herself. Just wondering if there are any tips for avoiding/removing swirl marks on the paint.

The car is pearlescent black so will show them all up, its brand new so don't have any yet and hopefully it'll stay that way.

Andy if you read some of the guides that matt posted up. I think from autopia. But to start with.

Always pre-rinse
Use the two bucket method
Sheet off as much water as possible the least amount of contact during the drying stage will reduce marring.
Use a good WW towel and also a quick detail spray.
Then just a good polish and top off with a wax.

I try my hardest with my wash technique, esp with saphire black and i still end up with some swirl marks. Hope this helps Andy

Ok any other q's just ask or send a PM. It may also be worth your time to have a look on detailingworld.co.uk some fantastic detailers on there and great advice.

Main thing to consider is least amount of contact to the paint work either by washing or drying = lesser swirl marks / marring.

Also if you get most of the surface off with a pre-wash this will really help so i would suggest in buying something like a suds blaster or gilmour gun depending on your budget.

I myself & matt use sudsblaster. I am not sure what Dodger users but i can not reccomend them enough.

where is the best place to get hold of a good WW towel and the suds blaster?

read your letter you could always try a new polish from autogylm especialy made for dark colour cars or if you feel confident enough you could always try using a buffer and 3M blue or g10 polish top this works really well and lasts for a long time
