Astra coupe 2.2 bertone cam chain

Hi all Just asked a dealer for the engine number and he said it was 112 30617 Doesnt seem right do you think he meant 110 30617?

If he did then it hasnt had the new cam kit.

well I dunno what to think now the reg he gave me isnt a valid reg and people with 03 and 04 plates have discovered the old kits on there car! really dont wanna spend 5-6k then have to folk out more before I can even drive it!

And I love the look of these cars wanted one for ages!

Ive never heard of 03/04 reg's having the problem mate, they fixed the prob at the factory from 02 reg.???!??

Mine is a 2003 on 52 reg and it had the small jet.

being as the vec c has started to show problems with the chain kits i would say any car before 2003 on a 53 needs the engine number checking this reg date is above where the afected engines have been fitted (i hope) and then will give us a idea of a break point but please note there still could be younger cars that need the chain that were late reg's or old stock ...but i dont think there willbe too many as of model year 2004 is where the all new engines kicked in so september 2003 is our new cut of date for cars made (note thats made not reged)....i hope lol

Well im still undecided at the mo, are the turbos chain driven? id have to keep the cav if I got a turbo tho cos I do space miles being a IT field Engineer!
