JohnnyN Whats the Vacuum Tank for on a Vectra. I know its something to do with the Heating/Ventilation system but whats its purpose and what happens when it goes wrong?
vocky it holds the vacuum for the 'interior/exterior' heating flap 🙂 it's supplied by the 'other' vacuum pipe on the inlet manifold 🙂
JohnnyN Thanks Neil. Its just that my air-con isn't working and my heater blows so hot on full it almost melts my skin. There's warmish air coming out even when the control knob is turned to cold?
JohnnyN I've got about 900 miles of Alpines finest wires and steering wheel interface cables behind the stereo. Is it possible that the heater cable may have become trapped?
vocky if you remove the glovebox all the cables are easily reached 🙂 to be honest, quite a few of my vec B's used to blow slightly warm air on cold setting, I never bothered sorting it :roll:
l1ghtn1ng My vec blows warmish air when on the cold setting as well but only when idle or moving slowly. If im cruising the motorway at 70 then it's pretty cold and is the reason i still havent bothered getting the air con fixed 🙂
