remove cat completely

Hi wanna remove my cat all together , but wat can i do with the second o2 sensor, i was thinking a just leaving it in fresh air under the car as it is only used to check the cat is working??? has anyone any experience in doing this??? any help would be much appreciated as i dont want any cat mot not problem wink 🙂

you could just use an o2sim and a heater resistor thingy (some say they are iffy but if youve an obd reader then its not really a problem), i've done away with my post cat sensor too, altho i'll still be using a cat (200cell)

fresh air will kill the lambda sensor :roll:

somepeople have had the EML light come on after a few hundred miles, but its no biggy to turn it off

U thought ure emmsiions were high to john...but a quick test on out ega proved that there were as low as a low thing...

so you cut the sensor off and leave the sensor wires to connect too???

mine flew its test about a month ago with a 02 sim on.

yeah i cut the sensor off, and reused the plug, saved hacking about with the loom

thanks for the info just need to make a new section of exhaust so i can put the cat back when i sell it in the future, anyone any ideas who could make me a new down pipe with flexi??? stainless preferred!!! 😃

not sure what an astra downpipe looks like, couldn't you get a second hand one and use some sleeved tube to replace the cat ?
eg from pipewerx ? would save piddling about with welding

i could do easily get some exhaust pipe from the local factors and sleeve it like you say gotta find a second hand down pipe now from a 2.2 astra if any one got one give me a shout! showo..
