a half price manifold has got to be worth the wait dunno..

I still cannot believe how cheap you guys got them for, mine was £185 without any gaskets etc :roll:

I had some more great news today too. The car was put on the dyno this morning for the before and after dyno tests. It was last tested back in September after the cams were fitted when it put out 178BHP and 160lbs Torque. I have since had the Milltek fitted and its now running 182BHP and 172lbs Torque. So the exhaust has gained me 12lbs overall and thats right across the rev range upto 5200rpm. Max power is reached at 6100rpm.

Bring on the new manifold and T/B!!

This is why we are developing different maps. We alsready have one for larger injectors and 2.4 inlet and plan is for a custom stage 1 and 2 maps with 2.4 inlets. More air in typically means the injecotors will be unable to get enough fuel in potentially meaning the engine will run lean (bad). I wouldn't run a car with just a 2.4 inlet bolted on for this reason.

Would anyone like to comment on this viewpoint? :shock:

I would definately say that a remap will be required. If your are already heavily modified then you will be running a remap anyway and the inlet will further enhance the modificatiobns that have already been carried out. From threads that I have read, I understand that most problems have arisen from adding the 68mm T/B. Thorney did some R&D with Vockys car and found that they had to extend the pulse that the injector remained open from what I can remember when he was running the 357cc injectors.

Remap Yes to make the most of the inlet but Thorney is saying that running the 2.4 is a bad thing for the engine dunno..

Ive been running my car for around 2000miles and a couple of trackdays with the inlet fitted does that mean ive been doing damage?

When you first run the car after the manifold is fitted then most likley the car will run lean but the ECU should correct for this in the amount of fuel it's injecting by increasing up a point where the duration of the injectors are maxed out. This happened to vocky car at _200bhp so I wouldn't expect this to be a probelm on anything like a stg 2.

However when the Hood tried to get a stg 2 map the car ran lean as oppose to the normal AFR it had been running on the std map. Now this why this is could be a number of factors but really depends on how superchips, sorry, TMS write the maps as it it was clearly getting much more are than it expected but I don't see why the ECU could correct for it using the std map but not a stg 2 dunno..

I dunno either dunno.. Maybe if the map had been left on for a bit to give the ECU time to learn it may have sorted itself out?

Thorney apears to have not commented further after my response to that statement on the .org site.

It depends, some maps disable the learning functions of the ECU
