Engine Management light

Hi all, i'm having a problem with my 2000 Vec SRi 150 and hope you can help.

Got the EM light on, car still drove fine but I took it to auto electrician anyway.
Fault code was P0378 (Timing Reference High Resolution Signal “B” Intermittent/Erratic Pulses) mechanic thought it would be the crank sensor so i had it replaced, but the light came back on after about 20 miles

Has anyone got any other ideas, other than just removing the bulb from the dash?

there is only the crank sensor on a z22se, might be worth double checking it's the same error code dunno..

Thats bloody typical, whenever something of mine breaks its always something strange that no-one else has ever seen!!!

It is the same fault code, would it be worth shelling out the small fortune vauxhall stealerships charge for fault code reading? Is their equipment any better than independent garages??

it could be a general misfire, try some new vauxhall triple electrode plugs cheers..

Hurrah!!!!

After umpteen trips to the garage it is finally sorted. Fault was traced to a broken wire on the temp sensor. Mechanic updated his fault code reader (why it hadn't been done already i don't know) and it threw out some different fault codes.
