De-restricting mods

Hi,

I've found the threads for Pre-Cat and Air Box mods, but was just wondering if there are anymore little mods that can be done at small cost?

Port and polish your throttle body worth the effort but not for the faint hearted lol
Veccy C air intake pipe, get some cold air into that air box.

Do you know where a can get the Veccy C intake pipe and also is it relitively easy to fit?

Any Vauxhall stores should be able to get you one not to hard to fit and i think they are only £14 each but can't remember the part number sorry sure someone will be on soon with the number

I've also just recently done with Veccy C pipe mod. Nice and easy (ish) and definitely worth it, even on a 1.6

Just ordered my new air inlet pipe, only £12.25 from Vauxhall.

Does any one have a guide for the port and polish? What tools would I need?

Ebay is your best bet otherwise evrynow and then one turns up on our classifieds section. pre- Ported ones go for £50 - £60 and you can pick up a ebay one normally for about £30 - £35

I'm tempted by the group buy 2.4 manifold but would like to know what sort of gains it would bring? and is it quite an easy job to do - for a not so well mechanically minded person? :roll:

Also mine Astra Convertible is an Auto, and was just wondering if theres anything different that can be modded - as there's a slight lag between changing gears, maybe its just my car or all autos...

I've fitted a new exhaust (Remus centre pipe and Scorpion back box) plus it didn't have a pre cat. Next job it the Vectra C pipe which goes on today and the K&N Panel Filter arrives tomorrow.

Sorry for this post which will no doubt make me seem like a numpty but what does the Veccy C pipe do. More to the point, I've never seen it mentioned on vx220.org and can the same or similar mod be done on the vx to get more power?

it's only for front engined cars.

the vx220 is easier to do, 90 degree silicone elbow on the tb, 750mm of matching alloy/plastic pipe and a cone filter on the end cheers..
