Sand Cast Saab/LSJ head...

as the spark plug issue scares me, and wanting a nice portjob. I came to the conclusion that the sandcast Saab/2.0 sc head with a bit of work would be a wise idea.... But not the std one as thats far too easy lol.

Anyone know if the head in the build book 1000-1400bhp section is still available?
Ive googled the part number and can only find reference to the build book and no suppliers.... even on the cobaltss forum they seem a little "lost" on that one.
It takes 1.4" inlets (35.5mm) and 1.2" exhaust (30.48mm) valves

Or would a straight forward ported 2.0SC head from the states do the trick just as well?

the 2.0 sc head is the same as the saab 🙂

With a major difference, the Patriot one is a L61/Z22SE one, the GM one is a LSJ/Saab sand cast one 🙂

sand cast without any doubt
Past the 350-400 bhp mark, I am convinced the lost foam one won't last more than a few hours

the yank forum im on seems to be about as much use as a punch in the head.

ive seen the jbodies LSJ modded head but it starts at £750 + shipping :s need to find some others.

My GM build book states standard OE 2.2 head :?

upto 1000bhp its a lostfoam head with pinning in 1 and 4... 2 different part numbers for 2 different spec lostfoam heads.

then there is the holygrail of heads.... the modded sandcast head with a non GM part number on it.
