Thru my bosses contacts I have an appointment with a ferrari engineer (who was trained up on vx) on Saturday morning, only problem is to get there is a 60 mile round trip... I'm really concerned that the car is just not up to it!!
The tapping now occurs when it is idle aswell, it also seems a lot more timed than it previously was and not just at higher revs...
My boss (he seems to know what he is talking about, but I can't guarantee it! I work in IT so know how much damage a little knowledge can do!!) has had a good ol' listen and he thinks it is more to do with the inlet / outlet valves?! Is there anything I can do to check such a thing?
I'm listening to any advice I can get at the moment, tho with that is attached a fear that the person dishing out the advice doesn't know for sure!
I will also discuss getting the big end bearings replaced with my mechanic
