Watch you dont clip anything with the spindle or chuck
If you just want a shiny finish run over it with some paper 800 may be 1000 grit it will be quicker long term. The pitt or casting marks will show through but will look ok from about 3 feet away. Then just use the mop to get the polished finish. Dont bother with calico or mop wheels that spread and flatten out a semi hard one that you can put some pressure on.
Its going to be one of those jobs where you will have to draw a line somewhere on whats acceptable, you will find out what i mean notsure.gif ie spend ages polishing an area only to find pitt marks, grooves etc that a polished finish would only show up, just sand it and start again and keep repeating.
I hate polishing, that reminds me got to do a little bit in the morning before the anodisers. Why cant everyone have a bead blasted finish.
