Matt The fact it's a 5 door sets it off from the norm mate. Think it would look good with the tail gate smoothed off, looking at the pic in your sig.
ASTRA2_2BADLAD hmmmm i know might do wont cost owt cos of where i work just finding time to do it, prob will get another tail gate though to do it with, weld a plate all way accross so less filler only at edges showo..

Definitely go for it. Quite a lot of people don't like the boot smoothed on the Astra, but I personally think it looks brilliant.

That how I done the boot on my mk3 cav nice and easy and like you say a nice smooth finish and hardly any filler
