Well i thought i'd start my own diary thread so here it goes.

At the time i was driving round in a Mk3 Cav Sri 8v with the SEH engine fitted. it was starting to let me down so i decided it had to go (even though i loved it) so i went looking for a new car. I had already decided i wanted a 2.2 without doing any research into them and saw a few cars but none of them really stood out. I finaly found a car i liked at a local garage and knew straight away i wanted it.

I bought the car in July 2004, it's a march 2002 car so was 2 1/2 years old at the time and loved driving it straight away. It was a standard vectra sri 150 as pictured below.

These 2 pics aren't of my car as for some reason i never took any straight away. The pics are just to give you an idea of what it looked like

I had the car about a week and decided the wheels had to go so i ordered a set of 17" TSW Volcano's from Demon Tweeks and fitted them straight away. Didn't really like them at first but they kinda grew on me lol. So then the Mrs decided the irmy letter box had to go (she didn't like it) so i was on the phone to Longlife in cardiff and they sorted that out. fitted a stainless cat back exhaust with a 4" tail pipe.

This was how the car was now looking

Next i decdied to get some shiney new number plates fitted (free plates might i add 😃) and remove the sticker from the rear window advertisng where i bought the car from. On the way home from work a few days later i had a moment of madness and bought some lexus lights and rushed home to fit them straight away. Got a bit too excited though cos i broke one through overtightening the nuts holding it on lol. So went back to the same shop and ordered another pair, didn't want a broken one fitted. Also removed the longlife sticker off the bumper.

After that i had a mad few weeks in work where i worked stupid hours overtime so come payday i had a few quid burning a hole in my pocket so bought an Irmscher upper grille from LMF (top guys by the way) and ditched the standard V grille. Then i decided i didn't like the front bumper anymore so saved to get myself an Irmscher (GSi) front bumper again from LMF. Had that for a couple of weeks before i could afford to get it sprayed and fitted but it was worth the wait. Then for xmas the wife bought me my private number plate V22 ALC which meant more new shiney (free 😃) plates fitted.

by now i was fairly happy with the way the car was looking so decided to upgrade the ICE and let sextons have their hands on my baby and fit it all for me. They fitted the following

Pioneer DEH-MP8600 cd player (no pics of this)
Focal access 165a components in front doors
Calibre components in rear
MTX thunder 202 amp
MTX thiunder 311D amp
MTX 4122 amp
2 x 12" MTX thunder 5500 subs
Voodoo 2.4 farad power cap

Cheers Daz, thats why i stopped earlier so i could go through my pics lol.

I got a bit bored with my radio by now so drove to wolverhampton and swapped my radio for a Pioneer DEH-P945r headunit. My next mod was to change my dash switches and fit new ones with blue LED's, also changed the headlight switch for one with blue LED's.

Then i came across a guy on VVOC who was making custom polished alloy heater control knobs so had a set of those off him, also a steering colmun adjuster and headlight switch. they cost a few quid but they look great. The pic really doesn't do them justice.

Shortly after the heater knobs came one of my best mods ever on my car, fitted me a switch for the TC so i could turn it on and off, oh and fitted cruise control 😃. No pics of these but you all what they are lol.

I then decided to change the breaks on the car, the pads were running low so needed doing anyway. a quick chat with my old man sorted me out with drilled and grooved discs all round with green stuff pads to match at a very good price 😃

Started getting a little bored with the outside again so decided on the Irmscher rear valance. Really wanted a Reiger one but was very popular and not many facelift vec's with the Irmscher one fitted. So back on the phone to LMF soon sorted that problem out

Also by now i was getting fed up of being called a chav by all my mates so ditched the lexus lights and fitted the standard lights back on and sold the lexus lights to a guy on VVOC.

The money from the lights went to fund my 3rd best mod, leccy rear window kit. bought it off a guy on VVOC (got conned in the process) and fitted them, wasn't too hard a job either just fiddly.

Not long after fitting the window kit my radio gave up the ghost and started smoking so i bought myself a new Pioneer DEH-P88RS unit, looked great. THis was September last year.

The next bigish spend on the car was to have my timing and balance shaft chains replaced. Daz on here did this for my (for a fee of course) and did a pukka job, money well spent, gave me peace of mind

Then back at the begining of the year i successfully reclaimed my bank charges and decided to treat myself and bought me a Alpine indash DVD player

Thats about as far as i've got, no doubt i've missed 1 or 2 things and will add them if i remember lol.

oh one last modification that i left out, although it was forced upon me. While on holiday last year some w*nker decided the paintwork on my car needed attention so keyed it down the 2 drivers side doors and the rear quarter. not had a chance to get this sorted yet but is on my list of jobs lol.

Looks so much better now Andy without the Lexus ligts. How do you find the grooved discs all round, much of an improvement on standard?

yeah i agree Matt it does look better.

the discs and pads made a big difference to the braking, a month or so after fitting them had to brake very hard on a dual carrage way and could feel a big improvement in stopping.
