She does (incase she reads this thread 😃 )! I made the mistake in leaving the big box which Jamee sent the pipes in on the bed! The postman woke me up, and I took the box upstairs to open it. Fitted the pipes, and didn't dispose of the evidence. Thats another reason I love paypal 😃

Taking this thread back on topic. I had a nightmare fitting the pipe to the airbox, and now between 2k-3krpm there is a vibrating sound inside the cockpit. It's not really noticible from outside the car, but it's really annoying inside. Could this be the airbox not fitted back properly?

Did you secure the pipe by the slam panel matt?...on jamee's we cut the large clips off and then self tapped into the remaining plastic..

Yep, 2 self tapping screws holding the pipe in place

PMSL sorry guys about taking this off topic (must be a norfolk thing hey drakey lol) but it was good to get it of ya chest. try porting you TB done one on my mates today peice of cake and he was well impresed with the result.

Well, I think I've managed to fix it. I've had the whole box out again, and it looks like I'd forgot to put one of the 4 clips back on which holds the airbox lid on :oops:

Just been round the block, and the noise has stopped, but will see when I drive to work this evening.

Sorry to bring up an old thread!

While my car is in for the engine transplant I have decided to get vx to order some stuff for my Astra...

Starting with a Vectra C air intake and new pipe from airbox to TB, does anyone have the part numbers for these? Is it the petrol or diesel one? The diesel is presumably bigger... but is it too big?

Sorry if I have missed something I have looked around but haven't seen this info... A sticky with part numbers would be excellent! TIA!

Here you go Craig:

Vectra C main inlet pipe – 9177099
Adaptor to airbox - 9177104

They are off the Vectra C Diesel.

We'll put our heads together and put a sticky together over this week I think. The info is about on the forum in various places, you just need to be clever with the search.

Hi, I may be doing something wrong and I'm afraid to break something but how do I get the old air pip out, It won't seem to get past the rad... Do I need to remove something?

Is ther a small guide about?

The best way to take the old pipe out is to cut the old rolled edge off the intake pipe, which will let it slide between the slam panel and the rad.

That's a much more preferable way to do it than I was thinking I would have to do it...

I was gearing myself up for having to remove the left headlight, but to do that of course I need to remove the bumper! The destroy the old intake sounds far easier... 8)

Good stuff. You noticed any difference with the new one on?

I can certainly hear a difference when standing at the front of the car, and I think the accelaration/throttle response is quicker in 2nd.

Should hopefull get the ported throttle body on the soon, then after that I may have to go for the 2.4 inlet manifold 😃
