My sister replaced the chain of her Astra about two months ago, everything seemed to be fine, but then she had a minor frontal collision...the front bumper and radiator was damaged, but the engine kept running. After all of the insurance and police papers were fixed, the engine did not start, like when the battery
is dead, so it was taken to the insurance repair center. After a few weeks they have declared that the chain snapped, cylinder # 3 has no compression and they are not going to pay for it, as they said it was not caused by the accident.
Do you think the chain was not replaced properly?, my Astra needs a chain replacement as it has 167 thousand kms... I appreciatte any advice to avoid this from happening to my Astra
