SRI 150 eats cats

Trusty old SRI 150 has now done 170000 generally trouble free miles, and I've been very pleased with the smoothness of the engine & excellent fuel economy.
having said that, it has had a history of problems, all to do with the front end of the exhaust system.
at 90000 miles the front pipe fractured on the weld near the manifold joint.
this resulted in a new cat at over £500.
25000 later & same thing again....but this time the warranty of the replacement covered it.
cat 3 lasted around 30000 before it too broke.
This time I had it welded back together.
Another 10000 miles and the manifold studs snapped.
Have recently had a new rear engine mount fitted as this was the most likey cause of excessive movement putting strain on exhaust components.
Now I've just discovered the manifold is cracked!
Anyone else these sort of problems??

all very common, the rear mounting does cause the downpipe cracking 🙁

the cast manifolds crack due to the precat causing excessive heat build up, get the precat removed and the cast manifold won't crack again 🙂

a new manifold is under £100 from the dealer or I have a secondhand one for sale in the classifieds, £25 + £10 postage or you could collect dunno..
