Remap? -

Anyone had there 2.2 remapped? Can u recommend anywhere in Northern England that will do these and what is the average cost?

currently i have just basic mods - veccy C intake, k&n panel, precat removed, decat, straighthrough S/S exhaust....

any ideas of what additional torque/bhp gains are expected? and is it really worth it? notsure.gif

Quite a few people on here have had their 2.2 re-mapped. We had a rolling road day at ChippedUK last September, and Andy Coupe had his done on the day. His was pulling 145bhp before the map, and they re-mapped it to about 160(ish) and he was very impressed. If you have a live map, they will get the optimum power for the mods you've already had done. It should also flatten out and dips in the power curve as well.

I don’t think we are having another Chipped UK meet, well at least not this year as Matt is currently setting up a big meet at Courtenay to have a RR day and a look around / passenger ride in there supercharged Astra.

As for Live remaps to normal off the shelf map in cost is normally around £30 / 50 more.

I would be very choosy who does a remap, I would go back to chipped UK as Jayson really knew his stuff, and I would only go back to Bromsgrove HQ to have it done. Others that I would trust would be TMS, Courtenay’s, and Regal.

As for gains you are looking between 8 - 10 bhp and maybe the same in torque.

courtneys is a bit away for me thats the only problem. Is the live remap worth the extra money?

I would say yes, but only if you have modified the car. But make sure you do all your modifications before the remap.

totally agree, fit all the mods you want then get a remap 🙂

I've run out of ideas for mods :shock: so a remap is the only thing left to do :roll:

well, ill have the sports cat on by then, pre cat gone, ported TBs, veccy c pipes, full remus exhaust, might, and i mean might... have some uprated cams by then, probably piper ones, so should see a nicer power/torque curve, then thats it for cheap mods, the expensive mods start.

Chip Tuning: £75 - £250
Remapping: £225 - £800
Live Mapping: £275 - £4000
Rolling Road Power Runs: £50 2wd - £60 4wd

after those mods it gets very expensive :shock:

ported head - £500 ish + fitting for about 5 bhp gain
4-1 exhaust manifold £435 + fitting for about 5 bhp gain

gets expensive after the easy mods :roll:

for example:
steel rods cost about £200 and add nothing, but they're a must for a serious z22se build

Stupid question it be but arnt the internals the same in zlet???? if so, how come they can push out over 300bhp without all that?

nothing fits from a z20let, it's the z20net which shares our engine 🙂

the standard bottom end is good for over 250 bhp, but the conrods fail at 285 bhp 🙁

I replaced them because they can fail, so would rather they didn't in mine :lol:
