Just thought i would ask to see what people think, esp Vocky.

You may remember some of my threads about 15months ago. My car started to use more oil then normal more then a 1ltr every 1k miles and felt sluggish.

VXL did a full engine rebuild under warranty replacing pistons, head etc.

The other weekend i changed my tyres round and my mate noticed when i drove off that my car smoked a bit.

I had the oil etc changed last week.

Now on cold start if i rev it to 2.5K i do see smoke from the exhaust but it only happens while it is running on choke and cold start.

I will do my own oil consumption test, should i be worried dunno..

Surly the pistons \ stem oil seals can not be shot after 18K dunno..

Or am i just worrying about nothing, i talked to my machanic friend who said not to really worry but keep an eye out on oil consumption etc. The car seems to be running better then it ever has at the moment too.

Should i get a compression test done dunno..

Any advice welcome

how many kilometres has your car travelled?

ps. my z22se use oil: 1ltr every 400kilometers 🙁

My car has done a total of 68K in miles which i think is about 109K kilometers then new engine has done 18k miles which is 29K kilometers.

1ltr every 400kilometers!! i would be worried if mine was using that.

is it smoke or condensation notsure.gif

all cars have condensation when cold and this does smell too much, but oil will smell like oil if you get what I mean dunno..

as for additives, fine on an older engine, but frequent oil changes are better dunno..

I would deff say it does conatin some oil due to the colour having a slight blue \ white tinge to it.

After too big revs it goes. But i dont like to rev a cold engine. I just see it somtimes when i start the car and it origanaly idles at 2k for a coupleof seconds.

As for the smell i am not 100% sure by the time i have reved the car and got to the back it has pritty much gone. I might get a mate to stand behind it and smell it after it's been stood a while.

I do fairly frequent oil changes anyway. every 5-6K or every 6 months.

I just thought a additive may help, So vocky you dont think the additive will block the oil jet?

Any other suggestions?

I know neil, my mechanic said that too. He told me to just drive it and keep topping up with oil :lol:

It's just that this what happened last time and i had to have the engine pritty much replaced :shock:

Just a update started car today and got the GF to rev it, no smoke at all and since the oil change i have done 500mile and the oil level is still at the same point so i am worrying about nothing

when cold and with the choke on its normal.... nothing to worry about man. the z22se is a bit thirsty on tickover and when its cold thats all
