Internet Explorer and this forum trouble

here goes,

when i logon to my laptop (windows xp pro) and then start IE7 and click on this forum as a favourite link, the forum thinks i have been on this site before so when i click "new posts" i don't see any.

For example
You last visited on Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:33 pm - this co-insides with my logon time
The time now is Mon Jul 23, 2007 5:36 pm

Any ideas people, i have done the usual thing delete history, temp and cookies and still the same

that's very annoying, I use the 'posts since last visit' all the time :roll:

it must auto log in, then log you out before logging in again notsure.gif

try saving the site again as a favorite, but make sure you are logged out and no name is in the login bit dunno..

no this is not ticked, but this has only happened recently, but i don't know what has changed

tick it as this clears the browser everytime you close it

As Neil has already said Roger, when you added the site as a favourite, were you logged in? Reason I ask is because when you log in, the cookie sets a session ID, which is only valid for a certain time span. When you log back in, it tries to use the old session ID, which has expired, and will log you back out to obtain a new one.

i have to admit when i was using vista that had IE7 and on a few sites it was a bit buggy, if you dont like firefox go back to ie6

I think i have fixed it,

I have created a new profile on my laptop and so far so good, looks like something in my old profile was corrupt and causing this forum to login and out when i logged on to my laptop.
