Hi all, Im currently with Orange and thinking of upgrading to a smartphone, (SPV3100), I obviously get my free minutes & texts but how do you know whats free & whats not when browsing the net/wap? or does it always cost depending on your network?
Sorry if this seems a little vaigue.

Most of the time if your on contract, you tend to get 1mb of surfing for free (usually). then it depends on the sites you go on as to how much of the 1mb you use up. they say 1mb is usually about 50 normal pages i think.

Dont hold me to that though.

1Mb is bugger all when surfing the net. Each page can vary in content size and this all eats into your usage. Once your allowance is gone its BIG money after that. I left Orange about 5 months ago and went to 3 network. I've got a Nokia N73 on an 18 month contract. 750 mins talk anytime any network, 150 texts, £5 of downloads each month, 50 multimedia messages, 50 video calling minutes and unlimited web access for £22.50 for the first 6 months. For the remaining 12 months its £40 a months for all the above.

I'm with Orange and on the Dolphin plan. Web browsing is currently free during evening and weekends for the first 2 months. After that, it's quite unclear as to how much mobile data actually costs.

Cheers again guys, Ill beat info out of Orange when I pop in to discuss the up-grade. Ive only dabbled on the net on my current phone, wasnt really on there that long thinking it would come under my freewelcome to Orangequota...... added an extra £30 to my bill...... havent done it since.
I know the cost of surfing should sway me from something like the SPV3100, but men & gadgets!!!!

That is one of the reasons I liked my Nokia N80 and wanted the N95 when I upgraded.....WiFi, however, the N95 was going to be at least £50 a month contract for the phone to be free, so I got the Samsung U600 instead

The U600 is quite a nice phone, takes a bit of getting used to with the touch sensitive buttons, but when you do, it's fairly easy to use

I found that with mine, my thumb hovering over the cancel sensor/button while searching menus etc.
the U600 has quite a nice spec` ...............still notsure.gif if they get used or not, the more toys the better.
