help exhaust manifold bolt snapped

Help please guys.

For some time now I have been hearing a ticking noise coming from the engine when starting up from cold and i finally got round to having a look today and found that nearly all of the bolts and the exhaust were slack and the bottom drivers side had sheared off.

The stud has broken off about 5mm inside the cylinder head and there is nothing to grab onto to get it out. Has anyone came accross this before and how do i get it out?

Where abouts are you?

It will need drilling out and retapping.
Room i here you say, you need an angled drill such as an air driven unit by a compressor. Done a few on last but one car, saved removing the cast iron heads complete with cast iron manifolds and turbo as one unit- hernia.

a pain to fix, might be worth paying a garage :roll:

Mines been blowing for over a year now from the manifold havent had a chance to see if its cracked or loose bolts notsure.gif

As for your fix buddy best to get it done by garage if your not got the tools etc ....
