I have a feed coming from there and from the inner wing to std airbox.
The flexi aluminium tubing used has to be crushed to go under the rear of the headlight, more so on the other that goes to inner wing about 25mm height.
Gains are minimal whatever you have read, just about detect it 1/2hp? About the same as fitting a panel filter at best, though get a sense of it breathes easier. Like most things on the bright side you can only get out what can go in!
This will give you some idea of the tube used in comparison to the two clamps and vx protruding tube retained from the std airbox and is less than the size of the intake pipe! Did measure but forgot.

Really is the max diameter and of course needs crushing under headlight for grille feed.
Personally i would go through the inner wing and enlarge if poss 3" ? and stick a filter on the end of a tube to the throttle.
