BobC ... keep at them ... I had 40 minutes of the Customer Service person trying to convince me I had no case. go up the Organisation Hierarchy, I only had to threaten that to get the offer above .... a moral victory if nothing else ... in fact since the initial brick-wall came down I have been very impressed with the VX Customer Service Manager (after all they are normally just trying to do their job ... and I work in Customer Service within the IT industry so know the score / language / tricks).
If you are in the right you should have nothing to fear .... :-)
During the last seven weeks I think I have spent about 4 hours on the phone to Vx Customer Service. As I said, at this moment they are adamant that they are not going to make any contribution because it's over 6 years old.
The car is still at my local Vx Dealer with the cylinder head removed (And it's Slaughtered all the Inlet valves have hit the pistons) but they haven't stripped any further to determine the size of the nozzle. I am just finishing a letter to them threatening to get an independent engineers report to establish the size of the lubrication nozzle and then forwarding to my solictor, assuming that it's the small one.
How do I get up Organisation Hierarchy? The guy that I last spoke to was the Manager of the Customer Service Dept notsure.gif He basically told me to F off
He said you wouldn't expect to get a new motor in your washing machine after 6 years would you! Cheeky b**tard.
