bit stuck, gearbox bolts

ok, ive a bag of bolts marked gearbox, they are all different lengths notsure.gif
for attaching box to the engine, which bolts go where ? :lol:
ive been relying on EPC and TIS to build everything else, but no info (can't even find the bolts in the EPC dunno..)
I gather two long ones go at the top ?

I had the same problem :lol:

the long bolts do go at the top 🙂

the engine mounting bolts should be the next length and the shorter bolts hold the sides of the engine to the box and sump 🙂

heh ta, glad to know its not just me :razz:

i've bolted the 4 long ones in (top and sides)

but i've got three left over of all different sizes (i know the one with the bodge on it is lotus's answer to keeping hold of the cables)

and i know one goes where ive circled, but not sure which one dunno..

heh its like a crazy heavy super jigsaw :lol:

the short bolt goes in the red circle 🙂

the bracket fits on the bottom of the box, below the red circle 🙂

Thread resurrection but i don't suppose anyone has a plan/map of where the bolts go?

yellow circles have the shorter bolt, blue circles the longer bolts, ignore the red bits 😃

When I'm taking lots of bolts out of something I draw an outline of the part on a piece of card and poke the bolts in where they go.

a bit of a faf but so is repairing a thread you tried to force a bolt of different pitch into!

When i do cirsa timing chains i draw round the casing gasket n poke em through like that. Makes assembly so much easier. 🙂
