The question was partly just for interest. The mileage seemed fair but the real issue was a blocked exhaust at motorway speeds without the failure giving any prior warning. The engine cut out on the motorway with a severely blown head gasket with thick oil emulsion in the cooling system.
So the real issue was not just the cost of a cat replacement but a head off job costing £600+ and after this repair the car still playing up with misfiring at 3000rpm and even cutting out to due to the engine still being chocked because the centre box had picked up the debris from the failed cat.
Centre box now replaced today and car is running much better but will have to see if smoke problem and oil useage reduced which has occurred after head gasket replacement.
🙂 🙂
Still have internal coolant water loss and remains undiagnosed. notsure.gif notsure.gif
