worn bushes/drop links

Is there any way i can check the bushes and drop links myself on the car?? I got a slight knocking noise coming from the front (i think) when going over bumps. Or is it a garage jb to have them checked?

I think its jack up and take the wheels off job to see the drop links?

will i be able to tell by looking at them if they are worn?

if you pop under the car with it not jacked up and pull up and down on the arb where it joins the links u will feel any play in the balljoints in the links

finaly took the car to a garage to have it looked at and its the drop link on the drivers side which has had it. its going in tomorrow to have it done. its only costing me £10 so its not really worth me getting my hands dirty for that,

what i want to know is should these be changed in pairs or is it ok just to change the 1???

Its okay to change 1 only. I took my Cavalier to our local main dealer and thats all they done.

well its sorted now, no more knocking 😃 😃 😃

Glad its sorted andy....got afew bits to sort on mine now....done the droplinks a few months back,got 2 track rod ends and inner rack ends to sort now,and then tracking...
