new brakes

ive decided not to buy ebc or black diamond brakes but instead ive ordered ate power discs and mintex extreme pads with a set of air ducts for extra cooling.

when i fit them ill take a pic then tell you how they perform

they cost £96 for the discs from eurocarparts and the pads were £40 from a local car shop godfrey autoparts.

Furn i am sure that they will be fine but i bought some ATE discs for my GF's 172, i had to take them back as these disks held the ABS ring and they where machined incorrectly and the rings would not fit. Had to get OE ones in the end.

Like i said though sure that they will be ok.

i fitted my new discs and pads today and air deflectors which i bought off johnny n

the old discs were badly corroded on the inside edge

the ate discs looked really good quality and fitted no problem same with the pads

they just need bedding in now

Need new discs all round but dont like the price of the 2.6 brackets.
Any way looked at mates early 2.6 today, thought they were supposed to have the 304mm dia, same as mine unless a ringer!

Glad it all went ok with the fitment. I also like the pattern on the discs. The old ones look like they have had better days.

only the gsi 2.6 has 308mm discs dunno..

an update on my brakes they are bedded in now i can honestly say they are the best brakes ive had no fade and it pulls up very quickly.

My current discs look the same as youre old ones mate.. All corrorded :?

Still need back and front discs, even my rears look worse than above. Fronts 4 months ago were 22.4mm thick and a deep recess to the edge.

Furn, brake pad wear sensor not attached.
Always liked Mintex stuff.
