greene36 I left my house earlier today and had been driving for about 2.5 miles when smoke started pouring out of the engine bay and the car suddenly went dead. after this you could not start the car evry time iturned the key it just made a clunking noise like a relay. we manged to bump start it and it drove perfect with no smoke or anything. the smoke smells like it maybe a electrical fault, i suspect the starter was stuck in, does anybody have any other ideas or know the best way to test it?
vocky I've had a starter motor stick on one of my old vectra's 🙁 remove the starter and have a look, not the easiest of tasks, remember to disconnect the battery before starting 🙂
