stevie16v Does anyone know how to recondition a 2.2 y- plate power steering pump? Pretty sure mine is knackered and if i can do it myself i wouldnt mind to
stevie16v does it tend to be just the seals that need done or are there other parts within, unfortunately i don'#t have a breackdown pic of the inside of it
JohnnyN I just replaced the seals that I could see. I'm not sure of whats inside either. I did post up a thread on here for an exploded view of the pump but there was no joy. :oops:
stevie16v What problems where you having? My steering is pretty damn heavy and theres slight play in the steering aswell
JohnnyN As much as I hate to say it, the steering rack can be a problem. If thats gone you're looking at £700 for a new one from the main dealer. My pump was leaking where its mounted to the cylinder head.
stevie16v I've already looked into the possibilites of a steering rack, I can get a recon one for £117 from the local motor factor as long as i give them my old one, Got a mate whos a mechanic so he's happy to fit it
