Vectra 150 starter motor

Hi guys i'm new here and i've joined because i'm hoping you guys can help me with my dilemma.

Can any one tell me how to get the starter motor off a SRI 150?

Ive undone the only bolt i can see (torx bolt at the bottom) but its not budging and i can't see how to get it off.

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Vocky or some of the others may be able to help you on that. It's not that often you hear a starter motor going on a 2.2. Welcome to the forum. 🙂

hi mate thanks well it is spinning the engine but it sounds like its wizzing away and only slightly cranking the engine, if it isn't the starter motor then i'm afraid i'm all out of ideas, i just want to get starter motor off to bench test it.

it has two bolts holding it on 🙂

how are you supposed to get that top one then?? the solenoid is in the way.

ive had a good look and can't see its possible unless you take the whole induction manifold etc off. Bit excessive for one bolt i think.
