Mark_Dj I have been offered a swap for a Vauxhall Vectra 51 reg DTI in silver with decent 17 Inch alloy wheels. Now this car is straight, 1 owner, 60k miles with full history. He knows the score with my car and he is coming up from Wales tonight to meet me. He knows my car is a Cat C recorded damaged. What should I do? My car is a 2002 Sri 2.2 and still needs some TLC to make it mint
vocky might be worth a swap, depends what model the vectra is, not worth swapping for a LS or GLS, maybe a CD, certainly a CDX yours would be worth £2.5k finished, £3.5k if a straight sri.
Mark_Dj It is an LS model the one thats coming up. I thought it would be good swapping with it being a straight car. I have just been on the parkers guide and my car is worth more even in poor condition.
Matt As vocky said, as it's one of the lower specs, probably not worth the swap, even though it is a straight motor
pxc150 i wouldn't, as you know your car and not the others history and there might be a hidden problem with it which he isn't going to tell , like the other 2 said notsure.gif your going down on spek na not good
Mark_Dj Well this is how the other one looks. I like the wheels it has. Add a spoiler and it would look pretty nice 8). The thing about the Vectra Sri is I would have spent about another £500 on it to get it looking the way I wanted it to. I would have had 2 sides painted and a good serivice.
Matt End of the day mate, it's you who is going to be driving it. The LS does look nice with those wheels, but you've fitted climate control, got half leather etc on the SRI.
vocky at the end of the day if you are happy with the swap go for it, I know you want a quick turnaround, so as long as you make a profit.... 🙂
Mark_Dj Well I did swap it. I was getting sick of the other car after having it for longer than I wanted to. I still would have probably spent another £500 on it to make it mint as 2 side could have done with a paint, as it had a few scratches and scuffs.
Mark_Dj What silver Vectra as I have 2 now lol. They are both DTI's. My plan is to make the new one look even better again by adding a rear spoiler, then touch up the paint work thats needed. Then sell it, buy a crashed damaged Vectra C 2.2 and see how long I can keep that. I don't like the 3 door cars very much as the quarters are huge if they get dented.
