Hissing

So I've done my plugs, was a little nervous because of the coil pack, but it all went well and took me about 20 minutes. The old plugs didn't look too bad but at least I know they have been done.

Anyway, before I did this (so not as a result of this), I have been noticing a hissing sound in the engine bay when the car is running.

This is in the general area of the throttle body, bear in mind my intake pipe is broken near the other side and I am aware of this. Any ideas what it might be? Dodgy seal over the throttle body perhaps?

could be the small pipe which goes to the fuel pressure regulator, just on the right of the throttle body 🙂

Sometimes my power steering pump sounds like its hissing. Its wierd how sound travels in the engine.

Sounds like the power steering, nothing wrong with it but there is a cure somewhere to quieten it down according to a VX mechanic. Basically thicken the the transfer box oil up, think Chevet was mentioned.
