Air con service

I had my Air con serviced today, I went to Kwik-Fit to have my front wheels re-balanced and they do this Air con recharge.

The deal is, they will improve your Air con by 10% or you don't pay.

To do this, they totally drain your Air con of gas (this takes ages), then they reload it.

They take temperature readings before and after and based on that, decide if you pay. Before mine was 6.1 degrees, after it was 5.5.

It was a close call and he had to leave it running ages to get it down that low ......

So they charged me half. It cost me £33 including having my wheels balanced.

I cannot reccommend them enough for this service in particular, and frankly I'm more surprised at that statement than anyone!

The guy actually said, mine was about average, although apparently a Saab measured -7 ............

Fantastic. There is a Kwik Fit just round the corner from my work, and I don't think my AirCon has ever had a service in the 5 years since the car was built. Might take them up on that.

What should the price have been?

£44.95 so if you want to make sure A/C is fine for the summer, it's a bargain either way.

Based on top-ups being between £30-70 a full recharge (drain then fill), is a bargain.

I have heard mixed reports about kwik fit doing re-gas on air con. some say it's great other say they would not touch them with a barge pole.

I may self would probably go to a specialst aircon service provider most you are looking at from one of these is £50-£60 for a check and re-gas.

But for the Price kwik are charging and if they dont get it colder then 10% then they wont charge it may be worth ago?

I dont use my air con on my car as revs go all over the place on idle when i do, LOL johnny and daz have the same issue too.

Yeah, I saw that post. Strange one that. The aircon works, it's just I've noticed that this summer it's not as cold as it used to be. I'll let you know what happens.
