Missing a gear?

Can you damage your gear box while changing gear but missing it, like crunching into gear, well it made a noise anyway. I think I never had the clutch down enough, I had my work boots on and can not drive as good :roll: . It's ok now but sounded crap when it happened :?

Na It'l be fine! Unless you do it like ALL the time and it might take the edge off the gears! but missing a gear now and again wont kill it.

Thats where the saying "if you cant find it grid it" comes from.

Women do it all the time lookin for reverse! 😛 Although we dont tend to have to much trouble with that as the 2.2 has syncromesh into revers and first unlike all the smaller engine sizes (except the turbo).

Cool, I have only probably ever done it about 4 times now :? , but today was bit harsher than the others :roll: . Cheers for the info 😃

I've done this a few times now since having my car, normally when I've just finished a night shift! Hasn't done any damange that I can tell when driving it.
